COVID-19 MESSAGE FROM THE GRAND KNIGHT

Brothers,

This is a most unique period in time for our families, our country, our Church - and our Council as well.  The pillars of full knighthood - Charity, Unity, and Fraternity - are needed now more than ever.  We are endeavoring to communicate the best we can with you as we go through unchartered territory while not being able to meet in person.   We are also developing means to assist our brothers in need as well as how to offer help for those who can.  Below are a few areas your council has been working on:

  • Posting information on our Council website for brothers in need of help or who are looking to help.
  • GK and DGK participated in National level KofC streamed webinars on how alternative means of communications, voting, etc..
  • Council 5561 Officers’ meeting held by conference call on 4 April.
  • We are preparing for holding Council elections in a virtual method if necessary (more info TBD)
  • We are preparing for an Online Exemplification Ceremony on 16 April at 8pm for incoming candidates and existing  1st and 2nd Degree brothers (no longer having individual degrees).  Additional information will be sent out and posted here.

As we conclude Holy Week and enter the Easter season, let us step up our game as men of the Risen Lord.  Now is not the time to despair or count on others to do their part.  As Knights, we are called to ACTION.

May God bless you and your families,

Bill Griffin,

Grand Knight, Council 5561
